Why do we volunteer?
There is many reasons why we help and volunteer. Here is some words from some volunteers on why they do it and what it means to them?
Words from the volunteers
Janet
Chairsperson
"We are a charity and we cannot function without the generosity of the community. It is a privilege to respond to requests from the staff and fund items, small or large, which will improve the standard and quality of care or environment of the patients."
Auriel and Agnus
Volunteers
" As a member of the Board we have the opportunity to promote the hospital and what it has to offer in the local community" "Having had family members cared for at Chalmers Hospital it is good to be able to give something back. Being part of Friends of Chalmers Hospital gives us the chance to do that"
Eleanor-Rose and Sophie
From Banff Academy-
Ambassadors
Some word from these 2 students from Banff Academy are "we are not sure what we expected but it wasn't that. The hospital was huge and had so many parts we didn't know about." "So much goes on there and we hope that we can find out more in the future." They said, "I think becoming ambassador's to the charity has opened up so many more opportunity's for us and our futures, especially because we're so young. Despite this, we would love to help out with the charity as much as possible and try to make more people aware of the Chalmers Hospital!"
